Did you realise that this morning at 8 minutes past 8.00, it was 8.08 on the 8th of the 8th, 2008?

Of course for most of you, it's still to come.

But exciting, hey!

the date has a nice ring to it, too :-)
Wonder if any prophecies are set to occur?
Always some floating about when numbers align.

...Wonder if any prophecies are set to occur?
Nothing important that I can think of. Oh, except the end of the world.

Duck and cover!

(If it were the end of the world, Mandy would've tasted it first due to time differences.)

Mandy?

Mandy are you there?

Speak to us, please!

Today I ascend to my throne. I expect total fawning. Especially from you in the back row, there.

I survived it! I think we're all going to be okay.

I find the 8 a comforting number. It has balance and seems to have no beginning or end. It makes a nice knot too.

Then again, all these 8's might foreshadow the rise of eight-legged creatures to rule the planet. I've seen an abnormally large amount of spiders and octopi in my neighborhood.

And did you realize that it's Jason's birthday? (Well, tomorrow it will be.) How cool would it be to have an 08/08 birthday?

Nope. I'm still here. Mind you, I haven't seen the neighbours all day.

Actually I just had a bad thought... can someone quickly confirm, that Biblical rapture stuff that everyone's been predicting.. it never happened this morning did it?... Anyone...?...hello!....

Not so fast. I told you to BOW, woman! (sheesh, I thought being Emperor of the World would be easier...)

It's my older daughter's birthday as well. Sadly we were a year too late for her to turn eight though. Instead she'll be seven on 8/8/08.

if the world comes to an end at least the sun will still be here :Sun:

I know that one: It's the same as all the others, thousands of them at least, that never came true, up to and including the one that's supposed to take place at this very mome--

Unless it's the sun exploding that causes the end of the world. I have two minutes to find out... :D

Edit: well, two minutes according to my clock, AW appears to be a few minutes behind that...

Well, according to the US Official Time Clock (http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java): still here.

In about one hour it will be 8:08 08-08-08 where I am. Wonder what will happen? Oh, I know . . . I will be making out my grocery list.

Did you realize that on 8/5/2008 that the sum of those numbers:

8+5+2+8

was equal to the number 23?

My mother's birthday was yesterday. On that day in 1990, just after midday, it was 12:34:56 7/8/90 (using the British date format - in the US this would have happened on the eighth of July).

This is why the British are so screwed. They can't even get date conventioning right.

Well I have to say, that seeing I started this thread, then my way of dating should be correct. We do it the same way as the Brits.

And if you turn all those 8's on the side it kind of looks like a pack of dog's balls which in some cultures means good health to your family!

Or . . . they could be a sign of infinity. Which, as I understand it, is quite a lot.

I didn't stay Emperor of the World long. Oh well. Just wait until next year, 9-9-09. I'll have my takeover a lot more well-planned. Then you'll see...
