When is it appropriate to ask the status of a requested partial?

I sent a partial to an agent that I've read in two places has very quick response time. It's been almost a month for me (one more week equals 4 wks since sent). On the website it says they can take as long as 4 weeks.

Is asking the status of a partial acceptable in this circumstance?

Also, each review I read also said she does send rejection letters.

I'd wait at least 4-6 weeks. Its summer. People go on vacation. The exception is if you have another agent also asking for a partial or a full. Then you can nudge the first agent and tell them you need a decision because another party is interested.
