Sounds like there's more news coming in the next 2-4 weeks, relating to the confirmation of water.

They've already discovered "Earth-like" soil and now water. My greatest hope is some concrete evidence that extraterrestrial life -- microbes, bacteria, etc, is discovered.

The best part was that they discovered the ice almost immediately, and we all knew it was ice, but they had to bake it to be sure anyway.

I'm not hoping so much that micro-life is discovered, but rather that this will prevent funding cuts to NASA.

Yes, and maybe even some forward progress on maybe being able to live on Mars! *shivers with excitement*

I'd love to see something like that in my lifetime.
