A knot question for anyone who has made jewelry before.

What kind of a knot is best for securing two ends of the clear stretchy material that is often used for making beaded bracelets? I don't know what that stretchy stuff is called and trying to keep a knot tied in it is driving me crazy.

If I can't get the knot to stay then I'll end up doing something really stupid like trying to melt the ends together. Why is that stupid? Because for someone like me, that means I'll somehow end up setting fire to my hair or the house or both.

I usually double or triple square-knot that stuff. You might also want to try a teeny tiny dab of crazy glue to make sure the knot doesn't go anywhere. That stuff is kind of slippery.

One magazine recommended using crimp beads, but everytime I tried that, I ended up slicing the crimp right through the cord.

How about Fisherman's knot? It's ideally used to tie two ends together. It's also very easy to learn. Click here
