I fedexed a 97 page proposal and partial of my memoirs. If I knew a priest, I would have had him pray over it. Instead, I asked the guy at the postal shop to do the honors. He didn't seem to get what I was needing.

As my mom would say, "Time to light a candle and say a prayer."

This is one of the most important things I've learned in all my reading here. It's invaluable advice, for me at least. Whether it's another writing project or just stepping away from the cursed keyboard and getting out in that thing called The World for a bit. Doing laundry. Adopting homeless kittehs. Vacuuming. Making a dart board papered with rejections. Anything.
