I guess I feel a need to talk about this because I am right in the middle of it.
I love writing...don't get me wrong. I love it. Even if I am never published I will probably always write. It's like an old and dear friend...but like old and dear friends it has a few very annoying habits I could do without.
I have found that I really hate doing a re-write. Where I can fly through the actual story and get it out I find that doing the re-write is painful and down right boring. It needs to be done, oh boy does it. Still, I can't help but grind my teeth the whole time wishing I could just write and it be done and not have to go back and tweak anything.
Does anyone else find that doing a re-write is a kin to chewing paint chips? Or am I the only one. If not, what do you hate about the process of writing or just wish you didn't have to do?
