So, we have been trying for a long time. Maybe not as often as I would like, but often enough, I suppose.

Anyway, today she was five days late with you know what, and took a pregancy test. She's taken them before with high hopes, but it's always been negative.

Today, the little window said "Pregnant."

It's still early, we both know, and she's taking a second one tomorrow. And if that one's positive, she'll talk to the doctor.

Right now, I'm kind of anxious. If this is true, in nine months our lives will change forever.

But for some reason, all I can think of are the vast negatives of babies I've heard so much about. (Fishing a turd out of the bathtub? Do I really have to do that?)

Behind you! Boo.
Congrats! Babies are wonderful, but yes, you WILL be fishing turds out of the bathtub. And the pool.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Don't fret, you'll be a great dad. And if the time comes when you do have to fish that turd out of the bathtub, it won't matter. You do what you have to do.

False negatives are common, Allen. False positives are not. Congratulations guys, you're pregnant!

Well, I know life is going to change sooner than nine months and forever thereafter, but we've been childless for twelve years. It's going to be a really hard adjustment.

Forget the negatives. You two are so far ahead of so many folks.

You want a child. You've been planning for one.

The panic will come later, and it will all work out. Right now, hold her close and be happy.

Congratulations.

I don't know you but I am excited for u...I have went thru the childless thing for a long time and believe-you-me, you are truely blessed for the positive. Be happy and try not to worry too much, enjoy the here and now and know that most people that worry about being good parents usually wind up making good parents.

Congratulations! It'll be great. You'll get to do alll the silly stuff you still want to do but might not because people look at you funny for doing it if you aren't a kid, now you have an excuse! Kids keep you young, that's for sure(until they are teenagers... worry about that later though)

:) It's actually 10 months, but that's beside the point.

Congrats! You're going to be such a great dad. Imagine reading your kids books to your OWN kids! :)
