I have a full out to an agent right now, and went through my ten-page synopsis again - after letting it sit for months - and realized it could use a lot of work. If my dreams come true and she wants to represent me, is that the next thing the agent asks for?

Not all agents want a synopsis. Some prefer to write their own when they pitch. You might not need it at all, if they didn't ask for it when you sent the full.

I'd be prepared with a 3-page and a 1-page ready to go. You never know what the agent is going to ask for, so it's good to have both. In my experience, agents prefer shorter ones to longer ones, so clean up the 10-page (just to have handy in case), boil it down to a really good 3-page, and tighten it up to a 1-page. The 1-page is really just your query letter with a few more sentences about the plot and characters and how it all ends.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I already sent my one-page synopsis with my partial, which led to the full. So maybe she won't need a longer synopsis!!! Woot!
