This is a wiki-style encyclopedia of tropes, plot types, character types, and other ideas that recur noticeably in several pieces of fiction. Despite the name a lot of the examples given are from novels. Not sure what else I can say about this except it's like, "the website I always wanted" and I could barely pull myself away from it long enough to post about it.

I love this website soooo much - I've lost so many hours there.

In fact >_> When I rebuild my site, I'm going to add links to certain tropes on my reference/character pages.

wiki has a high reputation of providing information on almost any particulars.

Bewaare! Be very ware! That thing sucks souls!

I should know. I've spent countless hours that could otherwise be productive on that thing. All I've gained was hours of entertainment, a wider vocabulary, and some nice webzine links.

(I'm also an 'Entry Pimp' for Samurai7. See 'Entry Pimp' and 'Samurai 7' pages for more info :p)

this was the part i loved the most:

If your entry cannot gather any evidence by the Wiki Magic, it will just wither and die.

Which leads me to wonder, is there a Wicca Wiki out there somewhere? (I'm sure there must be, I'm just musing... :) )

EDIT: Sure enough, and linked from the phlebo-whatsis page in forensics: http://www.themystica.com/mystica/default.html which isn't quite what I had in mind, but close. :D )

It seems awfully unfair to keep the coolest website ever restricted to the novelists :) Moving to the roundtable.

You can't help but love any site that has an entry called Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass. I shall never finish anything ever again.

Thanks ;)

Here's the Wikipedia link to Plots and Plot Devices that I've found useful. This page changed, though. It used to be bigger and better. I pulled it up one day and saw the changes and wasn't very happy about it. Still, it's a very useful site.

That was a great site - very informative and funny to boot. Thanks for giving us the link. :)

I love trying to check my stories against the tropes. Even though it sometimes makes me cringe.
