This requires a minimal amount of gardening, but is easy and well worth it:

Nasturtiums.

These plants are grown for their showy red, yellow and white flowers by a lot of people. But they are also eminently edible and fabulous in salads. Especially the flowers themselves. In addition to being strinkingly beaufiful, they are soft and succulent and have a distinct honey-mustard flavor that is a real addition to any salad you make. They're ridiculously easy to grow, as long as you can keep the moose away from them. I do some every summer in pots.

Clarification: do you eat the flower or the leaves? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm horrible at this stuff.)

Flowers and leaves are both edible, but I prefer the flowers. The leaves of larger plants are a bit coarse in texture.

Seeds and starter plants for Nasturtiums should be available in any decent garden store. Not a rare plant.
