It just occurred to me that we are in the midst of the second anniversary of The Great AW Blackout. Between May 23 and June 2, 2006, Absolute Write was off the air -- er, ether.

What do you remember about that time?

I had forgotten, that forum is where I posted my first Poem about an AWer. Haskins.

There's some good poetry sitting over there in that thread.

We comforted ourselves in not being here with writing and writing and writing. :)

Good grief. Two years ago.

I remember frenzy: of posting, of cacheing, of trying to track everyone down... a huge amount of outrage (mostly mine), and an even huger sense of relief when AW reappeared.

What's happening with the court case which followed? I assume it's still on, having not noticed any references to a resolution, so will understand if nothing can be said, but still: I'd like to know.

Wow...I can't believe it's been 2 years already! It doesn't seem like it was that long ago.

It was a dark time. The worst of times. Panic set in. Members scrambled to find each other. We sought refuge on Roger's site. But it wasn't quite the same. Some of us were avatar-less. Some never found their way there.

But one day---the sun did come out again! Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow...

I remember the chatroom was a mad house. We had at least a dozen people in there, almost all the time. We spent a lot of time joking around, playing characters who would come in and save AW from the Evil Forces (Jack Bauer made several appearances).
