Punctuation After Italicized Words

Quick question: if you have punctuation after an italicized word, like a comma after the title of a TV show, do you italicize the punctuation or not?

That's a typesetting question, and it's not going to matter since your text will be reset -- and most publishers don't want you to use italics, at all, but use underlining, instead.

But were you using italics, the punctuation immediately following the italic text, with no intervening roman text, is also set in italics.

This has to do with letter-spacing and italics . . .
