Okay, foodies, I need your help! :) I have an entire mixing bowl full of sliced ripe strawberries. What yummy (and relatively healthy) things can I do with them?

1. Eat them straight (my first choice). No need to mess with perfection.

2. Sprinkle a little balsamic vinegar and black pepper on them. Then eat them.

3. Invite me over and I'll eat them for you. :D

mmmmmmm what she said. out of the serving bowl with a spoon mmmmmmm

If and when i have strawberries leftover-i love them over angel food cake with gobs and gobs of real whipped cream. Relatively healthy if you don't eat half of it yourself.

So it turns out this is the correct answer... I imagined there were too many to just eat them all plain, but last night hubby and I started on them... and finished the entire bowl!!! So much for that. :)

AW. A very nice place!
pour a melted chocolate bar o'er them, then stick in the fridge for a few.
When you taste 'em you'll be sure to say, "Yabadabadoo!"

In one of THOSE moods. Look out people, no one is
The recipe

Ok, as I promised and y`all can hold on to this one til ya need it...the banana split cupcakes recipe. This is my own creation (I was in the mood for something different one night) and this version is quite good, but I would suggest adding some cut up strawberry pieces. I haven't made it since I decided it needs that so if someone does, let me know what you think. I also don't like the chocolate in it, but then again I'm not a sweets fiend.

Banana Split Cupcakes

1 ¾ cup Flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
½ cup lard
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup banana/strawberry puree (1 banana +fresh strawberries to = 1 cup)
½ cup pineapple tidbits or chunks
¼ cup pineapple juice
1 bag semi sweet chocolate chunks (optional)

Cream lard and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, and puree; beat until fluffy on high speed. Lower mixer speed and add remaining ingredients, except chocolate and beat until smooth. Fold in chocolate. Divide between 12 greased muffin cups. Bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.

Yum! Looks good! I'll have to give it a try.

Another idea. Dip your strawberries in sour cream and brown sugar before eating them. It's tangy and sweet. (Sigh... still waiting for strawberry season!)
