Nothing. It snuck up too soon this year and we haven't made plans.

Who the heck has Memorial Day in the middle of the month!

Stupid calender.

We're having our annual Mem Day picnic, when we invite our entire congregation over. My mother-in-law hosted it for years, but after she passed away and we moved to the lake - a prime entertaining spot - misterwrites and I took over. We'll have 60+ people. Trying to get my head set in hostess mode.

I'm going to the bank tomorrow, I think they're all closed Monday. I only know that because I remember a note about it on the door the other day when I was last there.

Why do banks never have their holiday schedule on their websites? Are they afraid it will alert burglars that there will be no one there on those days?

Barbeque. Bratwursts. Baseball. Beer. Yep, got it covered.

And then a trip to the cemetery to thank some of my bros in uniform who paid for it.

I'm installing a wave-runner lift for a friend. Guess I'll have to try out the wave-runner too.

I'll be packing and selling and tidying up the house so the realtor can sell it asap. On Monday, hopefully, I'll be heading for the beach (that is to say- Home). Ah, I miss the beach. Course, I like it more w/o the tourists...

Cheers,
Christina

Barbeque Saturday evening with friends.

Monday morning--standing on my front porch, waving to the vets as they pass by in our town's parade. My dad used to stand with me, and they'd salute him as they passed. He was a disabled veteran from WWII.

Monday afternoon--barbeque with family.

Maybe some beach time on Sunday.

But,
But, with the gas prices the way they are, I can't afford a vacation, so, I'll be having a 'staycation'

Going to our son's house Sunday for a barbecue. Yay, don't have to cook! Suppose to order pizza for tonight. Yay, no cooking for me! Otherwise, probably just hanging around the house for the weekend as usual.

We are staying home & working on the garden - it has been rainy (!) so things are ready for some work.

I'll put up my flag & call my brother and we'll tell each other war stories and be thankful that we came back from our respective wars. We'll toast our friends and companions who did not, and we'll do something nice for a vet somewhere whom we don't know - a donation to Soldier's Angels (http://www.soldiersangels.org/), maybe. We'll remember our father, too - a 21 year Navy vet who served in WWII.

And we'll have a nice little barbecue here - I'm looking forward to trying out a new marinade I concocted (recipe to follow if it is a success.)

Enjoy your weekend, all - life is for living.

Or, as here in NJ on the north-to-south Garden State Parkway, it's the Garden State Parking Lot.
