Weird example, but a good one. IMDB trivia from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade":

IMDB said:
When Tom Stoppard was brought in for rewriting the dialogue, specifically the lines for Henry and the Henry-Indy exchange. He was paid $120,000. After the film's release and success, he was paid another $1 million as a bonus.

Not a bad pay day.

$1.12 million for 120 pages of dialogue. I'd say that's a really good pay rate.

Yeah, but even better -- he only doctored the stuff for Connery and between Connery and Ford. So, maybe 30 pages of dialogue. THAT'S a good pay day.
