Kansas! Again.
I love math and I am double majoring in Journalism / Applied sciences. Emphasis on computers. Hope that counts! :)

Part of the reason I kind of want to do that, is so when questions of a technical nature get raised, we know who to ask.

My nose is itching. Or is it that my ears are burning. Whatever.

I've had a career in electronics design and embedded programming in spite of having only three years toward a four-year EE degree. I've always been very interested in science in general, and have done a lot of reading, though mostly of "popular" science books (from Asimov and many others) and magazines (mainly Scientific American).

Also, under the "Story Research" forum is a sticky thread, "List Your Specialist Subjects" where people in general (not just science/techy people) have done this.

w00t Engineers Represent!

Yeah, I've got a Mechanical Engineering degree, math minor, with a specialization in vehicle systems.

Did a bit of cross training as well electrically, but it definitely isn't my area of expertise.

The reason I made this thread, is because we're the folks who might be able to answer any technical questions having that people have, and it's science focused. Otherwise, it's kind of hard to scroll through the dozens of pages on the other thread.

Maybe, then, you could keep a list in post #1?

Recently graduated Computer Engineering (EE/CS) from Santa Clara University, applying for my Master's there.

Also, I have a philosophy minor, which sweeps out of left field.

In three weeks I'll have my B.S. in physics.

I've taken a little bit of everything in the department, from stellar astrophysics to quantum mechanics. I'm considering going for a Ph.D. in the future, but that depends on whether or not I think I'll be able to write while I'm studying for it.

... I can hear you laughing, you know.

I thought you had a math background Ruv, just by the way you phrased your arguments on the atheism topics.

Although I will say that it often feels like BS :)

Also, when the top post gets updated, perhaps this thread could be stickied? It'd make for a pretty good resource for people to know who to bother :)

I've only ever seen Bachelor of Science shortened as B.S. It's listed that way by my university and both variants are listed in both Merriam-Websters and the OED.

It might be a dialect difference.

:)

Either way, I'll be FREE in three weeks.
