Can anyone recommend a good introduction to finance and investment?
Not too technical, not "Make a Million in Twenty Days," but a book (or books) that covers credit, loans, and investment from a corporate perspective?

I got me one of those Masters in Bus Mgmt, but didn't have an itty botty text amongst those years...you know those laminated cards in racks at bookstores that teach all about wine/ manners/guitar/finance? Perhaps one of those is what you're looking for.

Hey, Ted. I taught corporate finance at undergrad and MBA levels for 31 years--also some investments and economics. I would recommend either Fundamentals of Financial Management by Brigham and Houston or Principles of Managerial Finance by Gitman. Both are very good introductory (i.e. junior-level) texts. They presume some knowledge of economic and accounting principles as well as a little statistics. But they're not overpowering.
