I posted a couple weeks back that my car was going to get transmission work and exhaust work done. I got it back last Wednesday and have been driving it around, but today I took it to a mechanic a few blocks from me to have some odds and ends done with the engine: tuning, a leaking gas tank, among other things.

So, after enjoying it for a few days, it's now back in the shop.

Here's what it looks like.

Oh yes. It's a very long car with a very wide turning ratio. It does NOT "turn on a dime" as newer cars might.

OTOH, I think it might get better gas mileage than most modern SUVs.

Thanks! The interior is very rough, but the seats are in great shape, thank God. I'm in the middle of repairing my dashpad and am modifying the original radio so I can plug my iPod and XM radio into it.

Right now, though, it has no top. Or weatherstripping. Both those jobs will be attended to at the end of the month.

Did I mention I'm working seven day weeks of overtime to pay for all this? I'll be doing that through the summer when all the debt is finally paid off.

When do I have time to write? I write when I'm not working on the car. When I'm working on the car, I don't have time to write.
