Writers seem to have become something of a luxury these days, especially in Hollywood, where all you need is an old Sixties superhero or two and a lot of bangs and whistles.

To that end, I'm taking a sabbatical from writing and will, as of tomorrow* become MacSuper, a mild mannered Scotsman who dons a power kilt and takes to the skies to fight evil and show off his bollocks free from any hint of confining Lycra.

* or until Mrs Meikle can make me a shiny tartan cape.

Watch out. The pigeons aren't so bad, but running into a 747 will ruin your day.

I was going to be a superhero once, but the underwear gnomes stole my costume in the middle of the night and screwed my whole plan.

So, you'll be dropping cabers on the evildoers, I suppose.

Yep... and Haggis... if I can catch some. You little buggers are too fast, even for MacSuper :)

The sight of the super marble sac will no doubt leave them stunned into submission. Just keep some smelling salts in your sporran so you can revive the good lassies.

I didn't know "caber tossing" was a euphemism for that. :)

Don't worry, the power kilt is specially designed to catch and process spilled fluids.

Ooh, then I want one. :D

(I've always though kilts looked remarkably comfy and useful anyway. :) )

I tried to be a superhero once.
First I got a spider to bite me. Don't remember much about that one, but I woke up in hospital having been administered the antidote and spent three weeks in a coma.
Then I walked into a nuclear reactor, but all my hair fell out and the tumours seemed to overshadow whatever super powers I got.
I've rather gone off the idea now.

I've heard that since phone booths have become nearly extinct, some superheroes have taken to using Porta-Potties to change in...

So, you've answered the question. Scotsmen wear lycra under their kilts?

....show off his bollocks free from any hint of confining Lycra.

So your superpower is nausea.

No!... I won't be wearing any lycra because that's what other superheroes do, not super Scotsmen.

<oldest joke in book>
There's nothing worn under my kilt... it's all in perfect working order. :)

I know I've been out of circulation for a while, but is this some new fetish, some new S&M thing?
