Let's say it's 1964 and you are a twenty-two year old secretary living with three roommates in Chicago. You like the nightlife. You don't have much income, but you prefer urbane, stylish, or maybe bohemian neighborhoods, and like to live near the city center. Where might you live? Just off ____ Street?

I agree with that. Possibly Wells, North Avenue, or LaSalle.

I could maybe help you out with 2008, but I'm not sure about the 60s! If you're looking for Bohemian, maybe you could google "Chicago art scenes in the 60s"?

Also Old Town. Lots of blues clubs, etc in those days, hippieish, sort of a small midwestern version of The Village or The Haight.
