Oh, I love that show. It was a comedy aired on HBO. There were six seasons. They've ended the show, but have you ever watched it? It's about four women in their 30/40s, living in NY as single, career gals looking for Mr. Right. One's a writer, who writes a sex column, one's a lawyer, one's in public relations and then there's one that runs an art gallery. Each episode's topic is based on the writer's sex column topic.

It is the funniest show. You've got to watch at least one of the episodes, if you haven't. You can rent them at the video store. You'll be laughing your butt off.

Ray's bio says he was in one of the episodes. I have all the seasons, so I'll be watching for him!

The statement about your mother --I assume she's in a retired home, but I'm not sure-- reminded me of it. It's not a focus of the novel, but there are different parts wherein the loneliness of the elderly is portrayed rather movingly.

In any case, I hope she's doing well, and I hope you're coping too.
