Behind you! Boo.
I reached my April goal and finished my WIP novel. Yay. So my May goal is to edit the darn thing.

I have no clue how long this will take. My kids are out of school for the summer starting the first week in June, so it's bye bye free time for me. I need to edit like a madwoman.

I didn't quite make my April goals, so this is short and sweet:

1) Finish revising Hourglass, turn it in to my editor. (ETA: DONE THANK GOD DONE)
2) Continue book promotion efforts for Evernight.
3) RELAX.

Seriously, once I get Hourglass on its way, it's fanfic and/or movies for me until at least the beginning of June. I am way too close to burnout, and I need some time to play, relax and recharge before I dive into my other projects. I might do a little research and/or brainstorming for my summer writing projects, but that is only if I feel like it. It's important to refill the tank.

Amid the alien corn
Revise my magician book to make the antagonist more layered and interesting and the protagonist less irritating.

This month I will:

Query
Choose a novel to work on (there are five and they don't get along with one another)
500 words a day

Taking it slow for AP month...

37,500 words into my WIP. That works out to roughly 1000 words a day, starting last Sunday. I will be tracking my progress in the BIC Challenge thread in Writing Prompts.

Good Luck everyone!

1. Finish my dissertation.
2. File my dissertation.
3. 20k of Otherblood rewrites by the end of the month (10 down, 10 to go).
4. Develop thicker skin ASAP.

My May goals?

1. Query one agent a week (I know, inefficient, but it makes me feel better)
2. Get at least five short stories out on submission
3. Write 2000-4000 words a day while I still can

How am I going to do it? By not coming back here until I'm done. Good luck with your goals, everyone. They're all good ones.

May goals:

1) Find someone to design my author site (the one with my own domain name, that so far has not much on it.) Was told by a book publicist I consulted I need to do this ASAP, so it's up before my publisher's fall-winter catalog comes out.

2) Get back to writing--at least something--each day. I have my mystery novel to work on, plus an essay I've started that might lead to another book idea (my fear of driving!). But I don't want to get swallowed up in the world of book promotion so much that I lose sight of the foundation.

So, no one else is working on their goals, I take it?
Either that, or everyone is so hard at work, they don't want to take time out to tell anyone else how they're doing. :)

1. Read two books
2. Complete final draft of one short story
3. Plot out one new short story.
4. Submit two short stories to outlets.
5. Revise four chapters of Friends in Deed.

1. Finished one of two (and have the second book in queue)
2. Completed.
3. In work.
4. Completed.
5. Completed.

I am! I've been editing every day and I'm nearly finished, at least for this pass.

I queried.
I chose to work on CORP.
I have not written 500 words a day.

I think I'm being infected with early-onset senioritis... I'm not supposed to be infected until this time next year, but oh well. I can wait until school is over to write.
