Not being a boomer myself, this might be a tad insensitive -

But that phrase has always sounded like a polite euphemism for an immediate need to change baby's diapers. :D

My mother would KILL me if I sent that to her.

I'm tempted, though. Sorely. :D

Shadow, you're just too young. A kid, really. (The avatar is proof, no?)

Whippersnapper. If you have something to say, speak directly into the ear trumpet.

Maryn, boomer extraordinaire

I'm so young that I'm not even a Gen X kid... I'm a Millennial.

Oh yeah. How ya doin, old folks?

Completely entertaining!

Mayhaps that's because I'm young enough to enjoy the humour :)

It is also noteworthy that (plastic surgery aside) it seems to match many AWers...
(also, what's the AARP?)
I'm guessing you must be Scottish?

It's an organization that old people in the US join when they get old. The AARP sends them information on how to deal with being old and what benefits they get for being old.

Being old, or oldish, isn't all that bad. We get to sit around in our rockers watching younger folks make the silliest mistakes imaginable, and comment, "Geez, even I wasn't that stupid at their age."

We've lived a good chunk of our lives and are well past just about everything the younger set will have to deal with in their lives... thankfully. Just think of all the heartaches and trauma and headaches you still have to endure; and remember, there's no guarantee you'll live to be even half our age.

The next time you walk past an old geezer, pat him or her on the back instead of poking them with a stick.

Uh, at 49 and a half years of age, they sent me a membership solicitation. So that's old? I can't even take early retirement for 11 more years.

*sigh*

Here. Now.
Dog, that was hilarious.
And yes, I am old enough to know the original Steppenwolf tune. It's a favorite.

I'm just waiting for the day I can get Medicare and not worry about my sore whatever.

It's not the kids that annoy me, it's the generations between me and them.
