Toho Studios is suing Subway Restaurants for copyright infringement. Here's the link to the story.

I've seen the commercial that they are talking about. I think it is more of a parody of Godzilla that an actual rip-off of the character. But I bet the lawyers will be happy to fight this case. LOL!

A friend of mine, who is a charter boat captain, named his vessel Godzilla. He didn't have a problem for many years until his services were advertised online. After a short time, he received a letter from a company (I don't remember which one) that stated they intended to sue him for trademark infringement. He didn't have the funds for legal proceedings and was forced to change the name of his boat.

He chose Podzilla, which is clever since he targets mostly tarpon that often travel in schools (pods).
