Book on History of Melancholia

Help!

There was a book reviewed in the Guardian about 12+ months back, a history of melancholia, claiming that the general populace only really got depressed post 1600.

Can anybody remember the title?

Alas, no.

This was much more historical. Looks like a good read though...
