View Full Version : Editor-oriented superstitions... (why my signature is back)

So I've been keeping track of my publications and my rejection pledge (I know, it was 2006 when everyone did rejection pledges, but I'm slow) and such in my AW sig.

I took it down for April Foolery, and hadn't bothered to put it back.

Since then I haven't heard a single response from editors.

So I'm putting it back, darnit :D
...Bets on me getting a big fat R tomorrow morning?

(And any other superstitious editor-oriented behavior to share?)

I consistently drink a just-below-lethal amount of coffee every day in the belief that editors will feel my vibrations in their offices and notice me.

I only have agent-oriented superstitions so far - I'm sure if I ever get to the next stage they'll be a thousandfold worse.

My husband got me The Query Bell, a very nice little rune-carved bronze bell probably intended to be decorative (you'd think he'd have learned better by now; I love all noisemakers). It started out as a joke, me ringing it after a submission: now I do it every time. Not sure what I think it's going to accomplish, exactly.
