Just a dumb question from me. :) Sort of a whocares bit of small talk.

(A poll is coming, so please wait about two minutes before answering and THEN post your answer in the poll. Thanks.)

----

::EDIT::

Okay, Maryn, poll is ready! :D

You can only vote once, and there is no expiration on this poll. (So newbs we can bump this sucker forever if they want to!)

Maybe we should make this thread a mandatory companion thread to the Biscuiteers Club. (How can you POSSIBLY eat a biscuit without milk??)

----

::ADDITINAL EDIT::

This concerns your DRINKING preferences. As in .. what do you pour into a glass and drink as a beverage unto itself.

To illustrate:

However ...

...

... the following example does NOT count because this is an instance of milk that is spiked with hard drugs. (I'm looking for the opinions of milk conosuires here, not drug addicts.)

So no droogs allowed in this survey. (Sorry, Mr. Kubrick.)

Thanks! :)

Well, finally! Those two minutes seemed like an eternity.

I don't ever drink a glass of milk. I use fat-free on cereal, although once in a while, when Kid Two (who drinks 2%) returns to college I finish the carton and it vastly improves the bowl of cereal.

Maryn, who does get calcium and vitamin D elsewhere

But...but...what if I drink more than one kind????

I use skim for cooking and recipes. Typically I buy Almond Milk for cereal, but I just tried Rice Milk and am loving that, too.

Thank yo! :)

And you also just gave me an idea on refining and clarifying the overall question: this is a what-do-you-DRINK survey, not a what-do-you-pour-over-your-cereal survey, or a what-do-you-cook-with survey, or a what-do-you-put-in-your-coffee/tea survey.

We have whole milk in our house, which I don't drink. I use it for cooking and for cereal, but that's it.

We also use Rice Milk for Trey. Thinking about giving Almond Milk a try, too.

In that case, I don't drink milk by the glass. I drink coffee or juice or water.

That's me, too. But I did answer the poll that way, too: No milk. :D HTH, PD. :)

I use half in half in my coffee - but 2% otherwise.

I read the options too fast the first time and read the half-and-half as half a cow. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, and that struck me as really funny - then I realized I'd read it wrong.

maybe i need to take a nap

I only occasionally drink a glass of milk. I use milk, though, on my cereal and in my coffee and tea. The only kind of milk we buy at my house is 2% cow.

Lactaid is the best thing ever. It is so nice to be able to drink as much milk as I want.

For some reason, when I've got a bit of a hangover, I crave milk. I'll stand in the kitchen with the fridge open, guzzling it by the gallon right out of the jug. Within minutes, all the alcohol in my tummy churns the milk into cottage cheese and I get to purge the whole mess. Fun! It's really disgusting, but it certainly shortens the duration of a hangover.

I don't drink milk nearly as often as I used to, but when I do it's whole, cow.

Yes, I know that's bad. :D I grew up next to a dairy farm, on the really fresh stuff (yes, I know, that's also bad), and anything other than Oakhurst whole is just white water as far as I'm concerned.

I use half in half in my coffee and that's about all the milk I consume. I do cook with it but otherwise hate the stuff. I prefer to consume my cows with a fork and knife not by the glass.:D

when my brother lived out in the boonies, he had a goat, and when we went out to milk it once, there were about 8 little bobcat-kitties around.
I milked the goat and squirted milk at those bob-kitties faces and they all loved it!

You guys that like flavored milk should move out to Nebraska. We've got the awesomest, freshest organic milk in tons of flavors. I forgot about this! I actually do drink their root beer flavored milk on occasion. It tastes exactly like a root beer float, no kidding.

It comes in glass bottles, which are returnable for a sizeable deposit, so you get a good chunk of your purchase price back.

I only buy skim milk, also known as skinny cow milk in my house. I'll buy 1% chocolate milk for my son once in a while but if I want to drink it I mix it with my skinny cow milk so it's not so thick.

Right now I drink milk of magnesia. There's a houseful of kids here and none of them are mine. AAAARRRRRRGGGGGG.
