Ahh... the hoagie/sub/grinder debate - in Jersey, your location dictates what you call it

North Jersey - grinders or subs

South Jersey - hoagies.

We call them subs.

And offer someone from outside this area a tomato pie - they look at you like you're nuts. But we know what we mean...

Wow, after reading these lists, I've never heard of dishwashing liquid being called dish soap ever.

Actually, there's a deli in Bridgewater (about 10 min from me ) that calls them grinders - and the place has been around forever. Maybe Somerset county dwellers are the only ones who know what a grinder is.

PS - that deli is where I met Jersey Guy -

Somehow, I think I would hesitate to eat a grinder. Sounds bad for my teeth. But if you gave me one, I'd say, thanks for the sub.
