I'm justing wondering what a WIP is, especially in the context of a forum such as this.

Sorry if I sound like a newbie, LOL.

I've just never heard this term on any of the other writing forums I frequent and so far I've seen it a lot here.

Any info would be great, thanks!

An excuse to not show curious relations and friends the unfinished novel you've been working on for years and will probably never get finished because you can't even remember why the hell you started writing it in the first place. "It's a work in progress."

WIP=Work in Progress (or Winnebago in Pennsylvania, if you happen to be in such a situation)

Other abbreviations you might see:
MC=Main Character
Ms= Manuscript

MG=middle grade
PB=picture book

Another abbreviation you'll see a lot is SYW (Share Your Work). It's one of the sub-forums here where you can post your work for others to read and critique for you.

My preference is "manuscript" since it avoids use of a confusing acronym.

However, I also like referring to people I serve as "clients" rather than "customers," too. :)

All this time I thought we just had a lot of Whales In Pain. Hmmm...guess you really do learn something new every day! :)

Buying lies and stealing jokes.
Ray, is there something you'd like to tell us? Do you have some disease that the other(s) in your life should know about?
No, no, but I do think he might've actually meant his Weenie Is Petite.

Don't ask how I know; that story is long...much unlike his...

:) No offense, Raymond. Couldn't resist.
