Okay, obviously I'm familiar with ghost writers, but why on earth would anyone want to be a "ghost singer?" I love the theme song from the Reno 911 movie, but it's not on the soundtrack and it took some googling to find out who it was by. It's a cover of a song called "Police and Thieves," originally done by Junior Murvin and later by the Clash. In the movie, it's performed by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, but he is not credited (the "pen name" in the credits is Sprechen Sie Deutsch).
Here is the song on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzos0EvDtEs
It's frustrating not to be able to buy it, but thankfully hubby was able to take it from our DVD of the movie to put on my iPod. But why wouldn't someone want credit for such a rockin' song and to make money from it on the soundtrack? Weird!
