Gooch, you're supposed to write horror, not live it.

Got to take care of yourself. (What happens if the brothers get a hold of you with a bad ticker? For that matter, who would get stuck hauling your body out of the dungeon? )

Didn't know where else to put this, but I finished my NaNoWriMo challenge early. I was on fire this weekend and wrote 14K in 2.5 days (counting Fri night).

Now I need to finish the novel (about 4K left) and find out if it is crap or not.

I understand. Really I do.

But, unless you did all of that barefoot, carrying your mule up-hill in a blizzard while giving birth and being pursued by ravenous giant wolves in the dark, then you don't have any excuse for not giving the Brothers MORE WORDS.

Good news...you may have parchment to write on.
Bad news....you have to make it yourself.
Worse news...you have to use your own skin.

The Brothers will help you get started

First draft.
Well, Haggis...

you know that makes me happy. I mean I think it is great progress. 500 words. That's a lot for a busy guy like you. Many guys can't do 500 in a week.

But... like the Brothers, they think it isn't enough. They think you might not want to suffer for your craft.

So they are going to let you have some onions before they escort you back to your cell for...encouragement.

And yes, mistress, I didn't write. Well, nothing but paying articles and not as many as I would have liked. But I was packing to come home for the holidays. And then driving. And then shoveling out the car. And various other things....

But I can write a quick poem now:

Roses are red,
The violets are dead,
When the brothers get hold of me
So am I.

... What? I said I was a *bad* poet.

Oh, well, if you wrote paying articles, I suppose I have to give you some more of those turnips you like....
....

..

Dag, the Brothers are over excited.

BAck..Back with you!!!!

Any way, Turnips? did I say turnips? Yes you may have those and a nice onion.

Back to work!!!

I've gotten a whole 600 words on a new short story this week, and that's it.

ETA: If I toss in the Choklit Covered Leto Twins Pr0n I've been writing as a carrot for ScarletPeaches, my word count doubles to 1190. Woot! I do get to count that, right?

600 words!

I gasp at your proficiency! I think I gave away the last onion, but surely some wilted cabbage for your megar broth will suffice!

Now, off you your drafty garret to pen murder by candlelight until you can pen no more.

The Brothers will watch.

I'm glad the scare was only a scare.

Congrats on the acceptance. Good work!

The Brothers say you may leave the dank mouldy dungeon and occupy the dusty abandoned pantry for the non.

But don't think you will get extra onions every week!

I just finished a rewrite of one of my favorite short stories and sent it off to . . . a literary mag? 3400 words.

And I found out this weekend that I have 3 stories in the "worth a second look" pile at three different markets. Awesome markets. And now I feel sick.

AHEM:

Although you have made progress, there are no beets to give you. No turnips either.

Therefore, to bid you welcome you may have ink, and an escort to the mouldering, dank, dungeon which is to be your home.

New week...new words.

Please, Mistress, may I have some more wilted cabbage?

Thanks to a glitch in my OpenOffice, the last 3.2k of my NaNo book disappeared. Therefore most of yesterday was spent in a feverish haze of typing to make up the difference. I had to rewrite my ending again! I ended up with a total of 3.7k for the day.

Cabbage! Cabbage! And ink for my pens, perhaps? I'm running low and I've got a murder to write by candlelight.

*slips Cranky some of her wilted turnip leaves through the cracked stone in the corner of their connecting dungeon walls*

And I've found that opening a non-essential vein and mixing my blood with the grime on the walls makes a usable ink.

I love my thumb drive so much I'm turning it into a piece of jewelry.

Thumb Drives rule. Everyone should have 3 or 4. They are so ridiculously cheap right now. I mean 19.99 for a Gig? I remember when you were lucky if your desk top had half of that.

Now, excuse me...I hear the '80's calling.......

Which is no excuse to shirk output. You folks need to put the quill to the vein and pull out your parchment!

Example...I've gotten a good start on Book the Four. I need a better title now that I'm actually working on it.

I'm trying to write parts of this from the Alien's point of view...
and I'm trying to figure out how to off some characters.

I only offed one 'loveable' character in the last book. I have to off another one here. If I do two, then I get to kill off a number of 'naughty' characters in an equal ratio to those I kill off when I off one.

That could be a blood bath.
I write mostly science fiction, I swear.

Mistress, I'm going to lock myself in my cell and finally READ some books! Tell the brothers they can have at me, oh, sometime next week.

*peeking in to see if anyone left the Corona and chips from the last time I was here. Spits. Stale. Shit.*

I need some extreme beatings here. Finally back on line and I haven't done nothin' worth talkin' about. Reality boiled my balls and fed them to my Muse so we need a kick start. Glad to see the old gang is still at it. Damn, I missed you guys. And that's not just the booze talkin'. I'm going to make a pledge to kick out a good 500 words by tomorrow night. Anything from any of my projects just to get back into the swing.

BTW - I know this isn't Horror related but Quantum of Solace was a blast! I actually snuck out of the house to do something for myself and caught the flick. Damned fine film.

Yay, Pike's back!

Sadly, I'm in the midst of a slump. An I-suck-so-bad-it's-not-even-funny slump. Ew. I hate these, they take forever to shake off. Will be working on a new short this week, I have a goal of 1000 new words on that. I'd like to also get 500 on the other, and at least 1000 on the NaNo book rewrite, whether it sucks or not.

Seems I do better with ludicruous goals than I do with reasonable ones. Maybe I should up that to finish the first draft on both shorts and 15k on the rewrite.

I can feel the brothers chewing on me already...

We love our new Mistress. Really we do, Pike. Trust us.

Look, Pike's back!

.... oh, you ate the chips we left out? Umm... those were intended for someone else. You might want to venture down to the ER. Just saying.
