Question about submitting multiple books
Hi again,
Could someone explain to me how it works when you have multiple books to submit? Do you just submit one and wait until you hear back from it? Or do you submit them all together? Thanks for your help! |

I assume you want to submit them all to the same publishing house? If so, check the submission guidelines. They'll usually say if you can submit more than one at a time. If they don't say, email and ask.

Most, not all, but that I've seen most say no multiple subs. But always check sub guidelines.

Don't be afraid to sub to multiple houses. Seriously. In the beginning putting all of your eggs in one basket can make you go insane.
As long as you make all the pubs aware that this submission is being submitted elsewhere, and keep them abrest of the developments with the other pubs, you won't have a problem. This is a business. The publisher won't have their feelings hurt if you find a home for your manuscript that suits it better. Publisher's turn down books all the time because they don't fit that pub's ideals. So, good luck! And remember, an author is only a writer who didn't give up. |

Quite often, they don't mind you sending more than one at a time, as long as you do a separate email for each. There are some houses that will let you put all three, or five, or however many you have, in the same email, but not many.
As always, submission guidelines for the specific house trump everything. An email requestion clarification is something to try if you still aren't sure.

If it's a series, sub the first one (to one or more pubs), and let them know it is one of a set, and if you sent it to other houses for consideration. If they are all stand-alones, feel free to spread the love around.
