Femmedia Revamp
I revamped my site and started posting frequently once more now that I have the use of my hands back, yet commenting and following has completely dropped off.
I'm wondering what you fine, unbiased people think. Is it the content? The comment system (disqus)? The layout? Is it too hard to find what you're looking for, or too difficult to follow or comment? Is it just not aesthetically pleasing? I used to have a lot of dedicated commentors before my break, so I'm bummed that my forced break kind of made me have to restart building my following. http://www.jmkeep.com/blog |

Heya, Anjasa. I follow your blog + twitter and enjoy your posts.
I'm not a regular commenter, but I wonder if Disqus has something to do with it. If a comment system requires me to log in and doesn't accept one of the social media accounts I already have, I tend not to bother commenting. And sometimes I don't want to link my social media accounts to a blog, so I won't comment if there's not a way to do it where *I* control which information I'm sharing. I doubt it's your site design, or the design of the comment system--both are very clean, appealing, and easy to follow. Just some thoughts. |

How is your traffic? The full blog with background tool over 10s to load. It could use some optimizing. The commenting system seems fine to me. It allows anonymous comments as far as I can see.

Disqus allows for posting through facebook, twitter, and disqus, and I do have it set to allow Name+URL.
Thanks for the comments, Leah. I'm glad to know that even if people aren't commenting, they are reading ![]() Traffic has been picking up since my return, and I'm now just below the level I was around March when I was still very actively promoting it and posting. This is for both my blog & my fiction site. I just resumed posting half way through October. I'll definitely look into if there's something I can do about the load times, though. |
