Denver Earns "Mile High City" Title (Co. Legalizes Marijuana)

http://www.9news.com/news/article/30...al-in-Colorado
Quote:
DENVER - It's official. It is now legal for Coloradans 21 years and up to possess under an ounce of marijuana.

Governor John Hickenlooper quietly signed a proclamation Monday morning making Amendment 64 part of the state's constitution.

The amendment, approved by voters in November, allows for the recreational use and possession of marijuana by adults 21 and over in Colorado.
Okay, maybe it belongs in one of the other recent legalization threads, but I wanted to use that title...

21? Jeesh.

These arbitrary age rules are so annoying.

In related news, Administration Weighs Legal Action Against States That Legalized Marijuana Use
Quote:
Senior White House and Justice Department officials are considering plans for legal action against Colorado and Washington that could undermine voter-approved initiatives to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in those states, according to several people familiar with the deliberations.
That's some major buzzkill right there. Is propping up an obviously-failed War on Drugs a wise investment of Obama's political capital? Wasn't he supposed to turn more progressive after he won reelection?

The feds can't patent it, of course they're going to be whiny little bitches about it.

Too late. The political will isn't there anymore. The people are on the other side of the issue. The government has already lost. The Dutch gave the US the finger last week, with the death of the Weed Pass, and Mexico is rethinking their whole approach to marijuana. Good luck to the feds trying to get the genii back in the bottle.

What are they going to do withhold highway funds?

The British Comics Database is growing. Or mutating. I'm not quite sure which, yet.

There goes our gross national product.

Not because of your absence alone, ofcourse.
