Found on Duotrope today that Collier's, a blast from the past, has been resurrected: http://colliersmagazine.com/ It seems to have had its first issue in February of this year. There is both a print and online edition.

Pay specifics are not listed, and Duotrope reports that the magazine assumes ALL rights, including copyright. They want:

Each of the required components should be emailed and submitted together with the manuscript or artwork, including:

  • Title page, listing the article/artwork title and the full name of each author and complete addresses and any applicable professional titles/positions/affiliations. One author must be designated as the corresponding author with full contact information (mailing address, office phone number, mobile phone number, fax number, and e-mail address).
  • 100-200 word abstract
  • Complete manuscript/artwork
  • Any acknowledgments
  • Works cited of any references used (APA format)
  • *Copyright Release and Disclosure form for each coauthor
This reads more like non-fiction submissions. An abstract? For short fiction?

Anybody know anything? Does the magazine have its former prestige, is it too early to tell, or is this a Johnny-come-lately trying to ride the coattails of a classic magazine?

Website hasn't been updated since Oct '12, and last Twitter/FB activity was Nov '12.

Just for the record, a spatter of activity in '14, but nothing since.
