Okay, so I downloaded a Kindle reader to my iphone. I bought a good book and it is working better than I expected.

But is there some way to get a word count? I am having trouble orienting myself without knowing how long the book is (it is about 1100 screens).

Tap the base of the page for a gauge that shows pages/and proportion of read to unread.

I am getting how many pages I have read, but in trying to compare the reading experience to a normal book i would love to know how many words are in the total book. I guess I can estmate by counting a page or two but I thought it might have a wordcount function somewhere?

No. There isn't. But you can tell from the gauge how are you've read, much like looking at the binding of the book of a printed book indicates.

(And yes, The Kindle, like all the others, copied that UI item)
