Everyone talks about it but no one does anything about it. Here's your chance: Weather is one of the coming month's topics. The other is medicine and/or healing, how folks in times past dealt with illness and injury. Witch doctor's, wise women, apothecaries, bone setters and doctors, anyone?

Can you create or dig up 1000 words on these topics? Good luck!

I didn't think that my characters ever got sick or injured, but then I realized that they do, but only weird things happen to them. I'll have to find the least strange injury or illness, or else go ahead and cause one. ;)

Hi Diviner - I'm not going to make any promises that I'm going to post in January, but I will do crits.

Today was a big day for me - I retired after many, many years in the work force. And, as the day came closer, I've been lining up the projects that haven't gotten the attention they deserve while I was juggling my limited amount of time. First up is a major edit (rework in parts) of a contemporary novel I've been working on. And, I also signed up for Katiemac's beta challenge and promised Festus a humorous western. So ... But, doing crits is actually some of my relaxation time in the evening, so I'll be around (and who knows, I may see my way clear to put up a weather or illness post - we'll see.) Puma
