Exactly Leigh! That's exactly it! But I donno, your depression smiley doesn't seem very depressed ;)
They were all things to make people feel better. I know I like getting flowers when I'm depressed.

So my guy and I are finally moved in together. Now we're just looking for a place. We actually looked at an apartment today that is super cute! I really hope we get it!

On the writing front, nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing. UGH!

Congrats on the move, Leigh!

*passes Madder a maggotini and readies a vat of maggoritas for Ink*

I think Vandal was talking about Ink's profile pic... We could try for naked Friday here but our professional images are already well sunk, so no.

Good luck, Leigh!

Ooh, we have maggoritas now? The Pit is getting cushy.

I like my nekkid avatar. :D On a related note (since my avatar represents my WIP), I came up with a great tag line-like thing for it on the commute this morning. Might put it in my sig, since it's likely the only way I'll ever get to use it.

And back to brain-numbing meeting and eye-straining work in 3... 2...

Wrote a bunch last night, and I'm getting an early start today. My inbox is still quiet though, and the snail mail ones are only just getting there today probably. Hurray for more waiting.

I see I go away for a few days and the Pit is still constipated... Nothing for me on the writing front either. Although I did finally break my cycle of anti-writing glumness. I went to the library and checked out some books.

I hope you and your guy get along great in new digs, Leigh.

And hey, I have a naked avatar, too.

I love Red's naked avatar.

Writing is much like dating. When a manuscript dies a slow query death it's like a long break up, but when you write something else it has the freshness of dating someone new.

I kinda have that now. My WIP has been giving me problems on the beta suggested revisions. But last night I had a breakthrough and wrote a new prologue which sets the tone of the story as I want it. Surprising, I don't feel so gloomy writing wise anymore.

I've accepted the incapacitation of my queried book (I don't think it's dead because I plan to revisit it after I finish with my WIP) and I now look forward to completing the revisions on the WIP and going through more betaing.

It was the act of writing that cheered me up. Creating. Bringing life to the page. I had not done that since late December. Depression had blunted my creative flow, but now I just let it go.

Will it last? I don't know. But I do know I brushed off another rejection today. "Sorry, babe, I'm seeing someone else."

Steve, that's almost too happy for the Pit. But I know what you mean. I need that forward momentum to be able to shake off the rejection. Everything that I'm working on NOW is shinier than anything I'm querying. It keeps that bitch Hope from killing me completely.

LOL, Ink, it is almost too happy, but I look at it as a survival technique.

The Pit appreciates survival. It wants us to be tormented and not totally defeated because the latter would take us completely out of The Pit.

That said, I keeping that POS Hope out of my mind.

To keep this Pit-centric, Kell & Vandal, I'm not saying I'm "happy" per se, more like relieved (I would never say optimistic).

It's sorta like breaking up with a crazy state, moving to a different state, and changing your name, then meeting someone else. Think Julia Roberts in Sleeping with the Enemy.

This week was totally quiet for me except for the rasping noise as my nerves shredded.

Bleh.

So you're sleeping with Julia Roberts?

That explains it.

Steve, ha!

lkp, do we get worms in the Pit? They might be too far up the food chain.

Every time I think my UF is done for good, I seem to get another zombie request. Can't shake the feeling futility when I send it off though.

Ink, you have a way of making requests sound like bad news. Good job!
