Somewhere in the 81 pages of this thread, there's an image hotlinked to someplace that's malware infested. Now we have to find it by hand.
Guess what we've discovered?
CRAPLOADS of you have hotlinked to images stored at 4chan, iMdb, celebrity pages, and other places. Repeatedly.
Your OWN Photobucket, Flickr, Picasa, or your OWN DAMN SITE or WEBSPACE (Like YOUR DeviantArt account or YOUR Wordpress or Blogger account) are the only places it's okay to link an image to.
YOU MUST HOST YOUR OWN IMAGES, NOT STEAL SOMEONE ELSE'S BANDWIDTH.
We've been over and over and over this.
So now someone gets to either spend hours going post by post to check where all images are linked from, or else we just have to delete the whole damn thread.
I swear to effing GHOD I'll turn images off entirely, if I can't get you guys to quit doing this, dammit.

This thread needs to be remained locked for a bit longer while I convince Google and various software developers that we're not knowingly hosting image links that go to malware hosting sites. That will probably take me a few days.

Hotlinking or inline linking refers to using the vBulletin image link tool (accessed via this icon:
) to link to an image on a site that is not yours, or that is not stored on your account on an image hosting site like PhotoBucket or Flickr or Picasa, or a site you control.
Guys, I love you to death, and I know this thread was really about how much you love AW, but I'm spending about two to three hours a week cleaning up after someone unthinkingly linking to a malware site.
I really can't keep doing this, in terms of time, or in terms of repetitive stress problems.
