Just missed my bus, have to wait half an hour. Grrrrrrrr.
If you want to write romantic scenes, IMO you have to read a heck a lot of romance novels. There's a certain intense quality to well written romance you don't see much in other fiction. It's kind of like writing action. Its one thing to be active in real life, and another to represent it in words.

Threads that make funny references to Twilight are so much fun to read. :D

A world of pure imagination...
I have a hard time writing romance that doesn't involve a very teasing relationship. People have mentioned that the romance in some of my shorts doesn't quite seem age-appropriate (for the characters) because of the teasing. *shrug* Oh well. That's why I don't *really* write shorts.

Oh.

I go back next Wednesday. I'm hoping to have 10K - 15K by then.

I don't find romantic scenes all that intimidating any more, including sex scenes. They're no different to any other kind of scene. Good characterisation with a focus on the unique aspects of the characters' relationship, strong writing with unusual images and punchy verbs, set mood and tone, etc.

I've just found out that "Somewhere In Between" fits Isaac so well when he's freaking out about his feelings about Stephan? Are they going to have a song that fits everything I write?? *goes to see if it's on iTunes*

I really enjoy writing romance scenes but unfortunately I'm a big believer in "less is more" when it comes to the full-blown romance scenes (I like to do lots and lots of lead-up so it has a huge impact when something happens) so I don't get to write them very often. Usually only 2 or 3 times per novel.

I love writing romantic scenes too! My last wip had a whole bunch of them...too many of them if you ask me. There were like two kissing scenes in every chapter and one almost-sex scene in the entire wip. Wasn't much of a plot though haha

There's going to be a sex scene in Sticks and Stones. Stephan's going to lose his virginity and it'll be Isaac's first time with a guy (reborn virgin emotionally?). It's going to be fun deciding whose POV it's going be in. :/

IMO:

If it's fluffy, less is more.

If it's hardass, it is exactly what it is.

ETA: Kissing is nowhere near as sexy as sex.

Which is why my characters always die :D

No, but in TRL, Hailey meets the guy she ends up with in, like, Book 3 and kisses him on the last page of Book 5 (the last book).

In Underdogs, Matt and Carla meet in Book 1 and end up together in Book 3.

Well, in my head anyway...

There are four kiss scenes in CT. I almost shot my MCs when they made me wait until the very end of the book for their kiss. There's also one almost-sex scene and one fade-to-black scene where even I'm not entirely sure what happened behind closed doors.
