The Hyperion Cantos - Dan Simmons
What do the rest of you think of this series of four books (Hyperion, Fall of Hyperion, Endymion and Rise of Endymion if you're wondering)?
I'm currently halfway through Endymion, but I can proudly say that Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion are probably my two favourite sci-fi books of all time. If you haven't read them, I can only urge you to get to it now. As in right now - trust me, you won't regret it. His characters are excellent, his prose entertaining and the story sucks you in like a jet engine.
I love all of Simmons' work though, even though he does have a tendency to blabber on and on about the environment sometimes (he does this quite a bit in Endymion unfortunately).
Your opinions of him and his work?
