I'll have to try making Australian beef pie some time. We have some things that are similar, but they're not a common item.

Hmmm. Should I bring pecan or chocolate pie? Decisions, decisions.

Glad to hear of Howie's improvement Susie! :)

Thx so much, guyz. You're all the best. Now I can breathe a little. He's not totally out of the woods, but thankfully no blockage in his legs and the wound is healing w. the antibiotics. So pray it continues...

Par-tay @ mah house??? I'm not prepared, but bring the pies. :D I'll prelick. :D

If you're cooking the variety with gravy in them (usually called Meat Pies here, I think, instead of Beef Pie) then be prepared for a messy meal.

Trying to eat one of those out of a paper bag while walking around the shops is almost guaranteed to make an annoying mess. :tongue Must've been invented by a sadist.

Nothing can be harder to eat than a chili dog. Chili dogs were invented by someone with a warped sense of humor.

Woo-hoo, Susie!!!! That is good news! :)

Give my best to your stud muffin!! :D

:yessmiley

And if you're making pie, AC, I'm coming over. Only Cliff is right. It needs to be eaten on a plate and with a knife and fork.

I'm off to bed now. Have a great party. I'll see you in the morning - or as soon as that pie is done. Whichever arrives first. :D

He's still on antibiotics, so hope it'll knock this infection out completely. Does  dance quietly. :) :Cake:s 4 all. Have a great pm! :e2grouphu

Susie, Hurray for good news! I used to make great bar cookies with cookie crusts and fruit fillings. Anyone want some?

Blessings,

Ah, but some things are so very clearly right and wrong. ::sigh:: And I so very clearly want to hide from doing the right things when they're hard. Probably I'm not alone. :)

Sat Nam! (literally "Truth Name"--a Sikh greeting)

Ah, I thought you were talking about a bunch of people getting on your case for not being their version of perfection. But you just want your own version of perfection without the work. I'll let you in on a secret: we'd all like it that way--perfection without the work. I haven't noticed that it works, though. Agree with the ::sigh::.

Blessings,

Siri Kirpal

Great news, Susie! Now maybe you can ease your minds a bit and relax some. I knew Howie was a tough cookie. :D Odd that it took this long to heal, but so happy that it is finally healing. :snoopy: :Hug2:

Oops.

With the cool nights and warm days we've been having, I've been having to flip the HVAC back and forth between heat and cool. I forgot to turn it back to heat. It was getting a little chilly in the house.

I've been trying to refrain from turning on my little heater, but the thermostat I have in my room says it's 42 in here, it'll be in the 30's before morning...I may have to turn it on. :/ It's hard for me to sleep when it's too cold.

The cats are all bundled up together on a blanket in the livingroom chair. :D Which is good bc the little black one doesn't have very long or thick hair. She hates the cold.

Great news, Susie.

Stay warm, nf!

I took my cats to visit my mom si they can play in the gardner, because she has a bigger garden and there's no way for them to squeeze through the fence and they played until they dropped. It was so funny.

My cat, on the other hand, is scared of the cutlery drawer. :tongue

It's right under his food bowl (he eats on the counter so the dog can't get his food) and when he's eating and I need a fork or whatever, opening the drawer scares the crap out of him, and he runs and hides.

Silly kitty.

AC, I'm a little late with this, but when you make the aussie meat pie, you should consider going the wholehog and making a pie floater.

Shouldn't he, Cliff?

Kitties are silly.... like they will completely ignore an object or a toy or bed or whatever, until you move it.

Cats are weird.

My house is full to bursting with food. I so ran out of food after paying rent and was eating the dregs of the cabinet, I decided to be full up on FOOD. And since I have a long weekend, I got a pie, and fixin's to make Philly chilli cheesedip and tortilla chips. As a matter of fact, I bought 2 bags of tortilla chips. I am one person. I do not know why I need 2 bags.

In case you want to know how to make it:

1 can of chili of your preference.
! 8oz package of Philadelphia cream cheese

Put the two above together in a microwave safe bowl
Apply microwaves
stir
Then add cheese to your desired cheeseability - I use the pre-shredded mixture of jack and cheddar cheese

Microwave more if required

Scoop up with tortilla chips

Mmhmm. It's what the locals eat. (When they want to be depressed. Sshhh!)

I've never been game to try it. In fact, I've never known a single person who's ever tried it. Strange that I've heard so many bad things about it then... :tongue
