Multicultural households are my specialty. My Dad was Lebanese, Mom was/is Anglo-Scottish with roots in American since before the Revolution. I'm a Sikh; my husband is sort of Christian, but he's the President of the local chapter of the Dances of Universal Peace, which are Sufi based. My best friend in kindergarten was Chinese. My best friend in high school was black. My longest-time close friend is Latino. I really don't know what NOT being multi-cultural would be like.

I just got back from Branson with no pretty fall pictures. I think all the leaves fell the minute I got there.

And a little disappointed about something in real life.

'ey, all! Well, would you believe the ultrasound howie had for his legs didn't work well and he has to take some more on Thursday! What a pain in the arse. It's a tedious, long, test and hoping it won't be as long this time if he does take it. We had an appt. w. the specialist Thursday, so I don't know if the doc will want him to do the testing or see him. Very discouraging...

Super lame! You can only be glad that people are looking out for Howie. The recognized it wasn't done right and that it needed done again. Still, that sucks you have to go back.

Thank you all for the Diwali greetings. Several days of feasting and now I'm 1.5 kilos heavier. Should have known better and should never have stood on those scales this morning.

Need to make room for pre-Christmas feasting which starts on Dec 1.

Diet starts today.

Good thinking except that I won't have any clothes to wear by then. But I guess that's not really a problem - I'll just have to buy clothes to fit a bigger me!

How can I ignore the advice of my pals Syd and Duchess?? Bring on the cake. And chocolate. And ice-cream. heck, even our fruit salad is made with Cointreau and served with chantilly cream.

ugh! So sorry. I know how stressful the first tests were. I hope it doesn't take as long and there aren't as many of them needed this time. Poor Howie.

Happy Diwali, Purple Rose, sounds like a great time. Feast and be merry worry about the poundage later...way later. I think most people here know that they'll gorge between Halloween and New Years and then make dieting their #1 New Year's resolution.
