Ughhhh, job applications, don't remiiiiiind me. I'm supposed to be getting a summer job at my university working with kids in orientation stuff (kids? they'll all be basically my age!). After that it's a bunch of praying my books are selling well enough that I don't have to get a real job.

Glad to be done with job applications. After nine unsuccessful interviews in a row, each costing me £50-100 in expenses, I'm all interviewed out. :tongue

The minute I turned 15 (I'm 15 and a half right now), my parents mentioned applying for jobs to me. But it wasn't until yesterday that my mom came home with an application (she probably got it to give me a hint to start looking).
So now anywhere I go or anywhere my parents go, we'll be picking up applications.

The job application my mom gave me is for a beauty supply store. It's quite funny because I'm not really a beauty supply store type of person.

I have finished the ridiculously awesome outline of Sherlockettes! It includes gems like "SOPHIE JUMPS OUT OF THE TREE LIKE A NINJA" and "'BUT FOR REALZ YOU GUYS I NEED YOU TO DO THINGS LIKE PERHAPS FOR EXAMPLE MEET ME UP ON MOUNT ROYAL LIKE NAO'"

this is literature, people.

ETA: I am perhaps applying for volunteer work!

In Africa!

One of my outlines includes stuff like that. This is why we're sisters ;)

HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

So I'm answering the Twiftie questions :)
1. I'm 19 and am a freshman in college
2. Usually it's paranormal/dark fantasy, but at the moment I'm working on a realistic/contemporary novel. Which is odd, because I hardly ever read those....

Hello! Welcome!

*************************************************

Yeah i was gone for a few days so i thought i'd catch up. As for the american school system there are several models.

1) Grade school from Kindergarten to 8th grade- typical ages 5-13
Then highschool from 9th to 12th.- typical ages 14-18.

2) (more done in suburbs) Grade school from K- 4th or 5th
Middle school from 4th or 5th till 8th.
Then highschool from 9th till 12th.

There are also several models with an in between from 7th till 9th called Junior High. But i'm not as familiar with that. It pretty much depends on where you live and what kind of school you are in Ie. Public, catholic or private.

I have 15 cards in the outline for Underdogs so far. I'm trying to do every scene, but I'm also trying not to spend too long outlining...

Guys, Stars is a really awesome band. I am in love with them. They have led me to forgive Canada for producing Justin Bieber.

Thanks for the explanation, Ally. The US school system is super confusing.

They must be really really good if you can forgive them for that!!!

You know what blew my mind the other day? Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian!

It very much is. Wasn't quite sure why you were all talking about it, but figured i'd share what I know. And honestly to me the UK school system is too confusing for me to possibly understand.

They're SPECTACULAR. They're probably not everyone's style of music, but they're just so good.

And...really? I would never have guess on that one :O

ETA: I think the US school system is simple and the UK one is baffling, lol.

Ally, #2 is the model I'm used to. All school these days around me follow that pattern.

As for the U.S. being confusing: yes, we are an overcomplicated people. Very overcomplicated. We enjoy confusing ourselves and others because we think it makes us smart.

Some examples: using whatever system we use instead of the metric system, our weird school system patterns, our overcomplicated language complete with confusing grammar rules--but you guys in the UK are part of that, too. We just made it even more complicated. ;) --, etc.

Go USA!

LOL.
