I don't know anything about them in this guise, but as CD Projekt they have been responsible for a lot of Polish translations of video games and original game projects. Apparently, the company has a lot of fingers in a lot of pies, and has been successful in them.

However, I'm not really sure what they offer that you can't do yourself via self-publishing. It looks like they are trying to be sort of like Smashwords.

Has anyone heard of Openbooks.com?

I've been getting emails from them. Anyone else?

Anyway, looks to me like a start-up which claims to be a new paradigm on selling books through social media.

Anyone have any thoughts on this other than avoid them?

First red flag: nobody's worked in publishing.

Second red flag: The Method is sooper seekrit and you have to send them an email for more information.

I don't know that a company being based in Poland is a factor in this Internet age, but at least it explains the awkward English of: "Your money are available anytime – redeem them whenever you want."

I stopped at the unsolicited email... No. Just no. Flag as spam, ignore, move on :)
