Also, pandas are way overrated. If they're that determined not to breed, I think it's time we let them have their way and concentrate on the bigger picture.

I'm not teasing! That is one seriously cute face. Imagine him with pipe and slippers.

It's a shame we humans project our own prejudices and biases onto other animals. Large and "cute" animals get the attention (and research funding), while poor blobfish and other animals are ignored. It's really hard to get research funding for animals no one cares about or don't have an obvious economic benefit to humans. The higher up the food chain the less "important" an organism is to an ecosystem, but unfortunately, most people don't care about grass, phytoplankton, bacteria, or fungi.

Ah, I knew that photo of the blobfish reminded me of something. There used to be a TV commercial here for some kind of nasal congestion medicine. The commercial featured a talking nose (just a nose). "I don't feel good. I'm all stuffed up."
