One last, before I too depart:

SUGAR OVER PHONKY ROAST / BEE&CEE H HIGH
- song / group
- both themes (food and seasonings)
- unlike the scramble, though, it's the group that keeps the theme
- disco classic, revived in the Nineties by a desert queen

5. Judging by the band's name , they might hop to the food and devour it--or devour anything, for that matter.

Aw YEAH!!!!

EGG MAN / BEASTIE BOYS

Somewhere I have a flier for a gig they played at the A7 Club in 1981 or '82. I got it on the way out of one concert (The Jam/The Raybeats), on the way to another (Bad Brains/Minor Threat). What a night.

I had no idea who the Beastie Boys were, and we didn't get to the gig.

ADOPT STRAW GSTRINGS TO MEN TACTILE HANG FEEL / IFEEEE HOFFA
- novel / author
- sticking with the theme
- food in question is regional US
- the novel was made into a popular film, and the title was shortened to just the first three words (the food component)
- the author is also an actor - most people, in fact, would have known her as an actor first

EARTSTANS TI LFACEBR'A / INTAFFYP IKAA

*the theme goes on
*movie / actress
*actress has literal link to previous scramble's author
*in this movie, the actress's character had an alpha-numeric(or the other way around) nickname
*ten years before the actress co-starred in this classic romance, she co-starred in a classic sci fi movie
*clue in scramble

*in the 90s a colorfully ambiguous band at a hit song with the same title as the movie

I'M STRONG TO THE FINISH, 'CAUSE I EATS ME SPINACH / POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN

(I had some trouble with this because in some versions the word is spelled "finach.") :)
