I'm surprised they didn't keep you on, Cliff or did you end it because of school?

Nope, I didn't end it. I didn't even receive my official accpetance notification for Uni until the evening attached to the day I was told I wouldn't be kept on.

Apparently, common consensus between my coworkers was that I should've been kept on. But it didn't happen... Cest la vie.

Well, their loss, I say. Sorry. I bet you were a great worker.

I was alright. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but who is?

Of course, there are so many people looking for work, and only so few positions, that most employers can choose the best of the best - either someone with enough experience to fake being a natural, or someone who is a natural, or someone who is just really personable and outgoing (especially in retail).

I'm not really any of those things. I'm kind of quiet in person, this was my first paying retail job, and I'm not exactly a natural.

Hey, you know what...I got my first job despite not having done anything for five years.

(Of course, I was sacked after 6 months, but nm that).

But don't take it personal. And don't give up. At least you can put "worked in retail" on your resume now.

I'm sorry Cliff... but I'm glad you got into school.

I was so exausted, I came home from work and got right into bed. Now I'll be up for a long time... but I"m not worried... I'm off work tomorrow.

I don't think I'll be starting on my editing tonight, tho. My brain are a little muzzy. I'll get started tomorrow.

I intend to write a fair amount after work finishes, and before I start Uni.

I mean, I only got 15k during NaNo due to working long hours - I'd like to get back on the horse.

Just got home from work, GRRRRRRRR. Rough night. I say, if you are going to be a cheap bastard (sorry Susie) the least you can do is NOT stare at my cleavage. (that is not to say not being a cheapskate allows you access to my bosom)

I've just got back from grocery shopping - it was boring but... my favorite fabric shop is having it's annual summer sale, which started on Monday. I was there on Monday afternoon and got bargains galore.

Eldest daughter heard about the sale, freaked that I didn't tell her so we met there this morning. I found fabric that's a perfect match to my kitchen curtains. Daughter moseys over, looks at the fabric and says, "Please tell me you're not going to make a dress out of that!" I said, "No. I'm going to make a toga for a muppet." The look on her face was priceless.

I think she is now looking into how to Section 21* me.
