Ok, I am trying to type over a much abused cat. She was forced out of the room for a few hours (not even all night!) and when I got up this morning to the unholy racket she was making and came down stairs, the cat latched herself to me and has not stopped purring, kneading, sticking her face in my face...

I also had a velcro cat yesterday, after the packing and the big brown monsters all over the apt on Saturday. Sigh. I gotta stick her in the bathroom when I pack and clean, now. I really hope to get in the new place as soon as possible, just so I don't have to deal with her when I do a big-time clean on the old place.
Moving and packing is a hugemongous pain, hope you have someone to help besides the cat. 
I bet you're excited, though. Hope it's a much better place for you.
