I've had a brain-numbing day. It's my work's 25th anniversary party on Thursday night at the Scottish Parliament and I've run about daft making up the invitation list, changing the list, changing the list again, sending the invitations, pestering people to confirm, resending invitations to pests who 'didn't get one' (or threw it out accidentally, which is what actually happened), ordering peelable sticky labels to put on the residents' paintings for the art exhibition, cutting the labels to size with a squeaky blunt guillotine, changing the stickers because the names were wrong, changing the list again again, and now - NOW - I'm told that while everyone else in the office gets a half-day, I. DON'T. I have to stay till 5pm and answer the phone. I think the word I'm looking for is 'Bollocks'.
